We're tucked away here in New Hampshire, surrounded by lakes, rivers, and a whole lot of green. Wildfires? Not exactly a top-of-mind concern for us. But seeing the devastation unfolding in LA – the flames, the smoke, the forced evacuations – it just felt wrong to do nothing.
Pasadena Humane
And then we heard about the Pasadena Humane Society. Over 300 animals, from fluffy cats and loyal dogs to a pony, reptiles, and even birds, were dropped off at their doors by people fleeing the flames. These animals are terrified, injured, and desperately need help.
Animals with Overwhelming Needs
Imagine the chaos: vets working around the clock, treating singed fur, burned paws, and smoke inhalation. Emergency surgeries, constant monitoring, and the sheer volume of animals needing food, shelter, and comfort...it's overwhelming.
Finding Homes for Displaced Animals
But the crisis doesn't end there. Lost pets are wandering, injured and alone. Rescue teams are searching tirelessly, trying to reunite animals with their heartbroken owners. Shelters are overflowing, forcing animals to be transported across state lines or placed in foster homes.
It takes resources. Money.
That's why we decided to do our part. For every purchase of our animal-themed coffees, we're donating 20% of the proceeds directly to the Pasadena Humane Society: Cat Magic, Neon Venom, Ethiopia and Brazil.
But we know every little bit helps. That's why we've also added a direct donation option on our website. Every dollar counts.
Even though we're miles away, we can still lend a paw. Let's show these animals that they're not alone.
How You Can Help:
- Donate: Every dollar helps. Donate to the Pasadena Humane Society or other animal rescue organizations working in the affected areas.
- Volunteer: If you're in the LA area, consider volunteering your time to help with animal care, rescue efforts, or other tasks.
- Spread the Word: Share this blog post and other information about the LA wildfires and animal relief efforts on social media.
